Among the seven beers it brews, Hardywood Gingerbread Stout recently earned a Perfect 100 Rating in BeerAdvocate Magazine.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery participates in the Dominion Green Power program and 100% of it's energy comes from renewable energy sources. It minimizes water use in the brewery, recycles materials and uses 100% recycled packaging. The office is a paperless environment and it uses sustainably "treecycled" wood in the furniture, tap handles and even the coasters.

There is a tasting room and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery hosts special events but according to the website, it does not offer a brewpub. Like them on Facebook for details about events, including Spring Folics, this Saturday, April 28, from 2:00-8:00 pm.

At the Nature Center visitors enjoy watching the playful river otters and learning about the natural environment of the James River.

Richmond Alarm Hosting Chamber Night Out

On February 13, Lulu’s Creamery opened in the King’s Charter shopping center in Mechanicsville. Word is spreading quickly among Hanover County residents about the new shop, owned by the Carlton family. Customers are happy they can get fresh soft serve ice cream, baked treats and micro roasted coffee. Many enjoy the cozy atmosphere, big screen TVs and free WiFi.

Soft serve flavors of the week and coffee & soup of the day are posted on their Facebook page, and coming soon to the Lulu’s website. You can even vote for soft serve flavors of the week - so vote for your favorite. (Come on Yellow Cake Batter)
